Four-legged family fun at Paws Charity Dog Show
The Wessex K9 Dancers will be at the Paws Charity Dog Show to entertain crowds
A DAY of fun, entertainment and displays for dog lovers and families will raise funds for the Wiltshire Bobby Van Trust at Rainscombe Park, Oare, on Sunday, September 13.
The Paws Charity Dog Show will be a fantastic day out for owners and their four-legged friends with something for everyone, said Bobby Van Director Jennie Shaw. “The beautiful grounds are a fantastic setting for the show, where we’ll have a whole day of things to do and see,” she said.
The trust works with Wiltshire Police to protect over 60s and people aged 18 and over with a disability in their homes by fitting security devices free of charge. It also operates a Stay Safe Online team of volunteers who provide free cyber security advice through home visits and talks to groups.
Among the attractions will be the Wessex K9 Dancers Display Team, who will have dogs dancing with their owners in a Heelwork to Music demonstration in the main ring and will also be inviting the audience to join in.
K9AquaSports will be bringing a diving pool for dog diving and again owners will be allowed to let their dogs try the sport.
The Paws For Thought dog display team will be showing off their agility and intelligence with tricks and fun races. Among the highlights are dog races, fun agility, unusual retrieves, tricks and exceptional commentary and even a Jack Russell ladder walking.
The display will be followed by the opportunity for owners and pets to take part in have-a-go Flyball with the team.
One of the highlights of the day will be 12 Fun Family Dog show classes that are open to all dogs aged over six months.
More interactive fun for dogs in the Have-a-Go Agility and Temptation Alley, a test of trust and obedience.
“We’ll also have plenty of refreshments, trade stands and other entertainment throughout the day,” said Jennie. “It will a lovely day for getting the family and their pets out into the fresh air, mixing with other dog lovers and watching some really fun and entertaining displays that showcase just how brave and clever our dogs really are. We are very grateful to Robert Hiscox for generously allowing us to use the grounds.”
