Action Fraud becomes Report Fraud
Report Fraud promises a clearer, simpler process for people who want to report a crime
ACTION Fraud, the reporting service for fraud and cybercrime has been relaunched as a new streamlined service called Report Fraud.
The new platform, available at reportfraud.police.uk, promises a clearer, simpler process for people who want to report a crime.
Organisers say the shift is a significant upgrade designed to improve law enforcement response to financial scams and cyberattacks. The primary goals are to streamline the reporting system, speed up data transfer to police forces, and enhance support mechanisms for those who have fallen victim to fraud.
“The launch of Report Fraud marks a pivotal moment in our fight against this pervasive crime,” says the National Police Chiefs’ Council (NPCC). “By simplifying how the public submits information, we are enabling a faster, more effective police response,” it said.
People attempting to access the former Action Fraud website will be automatically redirected to the new service. The dedicated phone line remains the same, 0300 123 2040.
While the new system is operational, some Action Fraud systems may remain active in the background until the transition is fully complete.
